Growing up in Zimbabwe, my parents always had us outside. Game reserves, bush trails, climbing rocks with bare hands and whatever shoes we happened to be wearing. We were raised in nature — it was our playground, our classroom, our church.
But I remember the feeling of never being fully served by what was on my feet. The shoes weren’t made for our terrain, and they certainly weren’t made with faces like ours in mind. That gap stayed with me.
The Noni Hiker is named after my little sister. It’s a tribute to the kids who come from where I come from — kids who might not yet see a face that looks like theirs in the outdoor world. This shoe is about relatability. It’s about seeing yourself in a product that can make your life just that much better.
