Growing up in Zimbabwe, my parents were advocates of getting us the best education possible. Which meant private schools, pricey. Inasmuch as we will always appreciate that, young me became a fan of imported goods at a young age. Sneaker head practically since birth. But imported sneakers were rare, and expensive.
The closest we could get to imported sneakers sometimes was the flea-market. Because of honor amongst bootleggers (or probably lawsuits) the foreign sneaker look a-likes were always called "sports"
Something about that level of innovation seemed to be appropriate for our new sub line "R-Sports."
