Twenty-two kilometers west of Bulawayo, the Khami Ruins sit in the granite hills. A UNESCO World Heritage site. The capital of the Kingdom of Butwa, risen to power after Great Zimbabwe was abandoned in the 16th century. A city of stone walls, narrow passageways, chevron patterns, and cobwork huts—built to last, built to trade.

Khami was connected. Spanish porcelain, Rhineland stoneware, Ming dynasty porcelain—objects from Europe and China moved through this place for centuries. Before we talked about global anything, Khami was global.

Just like Khami was a place of international meeting, this boot is intended to be universal. Whether you're walking through the bushtrails of Matabeleland, with a high top to prevent snake bites at the ankle, or hiking trails in the Dolomites while trying to avoid twisting an ankle on loose rock, this boot has what you need. A leather upper with a protective heel cup that reaches around the ankle, a reinforced toe, and a Vibram outsole that grips whatever's underfoot. This boot was made to be taken outside.

The Khami 1 was our first attempt at making a boot. We were limited by our capabilities then—learning how to build something that could hold up to real terrain. But the Khami 2 is our greatest attempt yet. Suede leather upper. A plastic heel cup that locks your foot in place. A protective toe. A Vibram outsole that eats miles. A Tepordry membrane because water doesn't check the forecast. It's waterproof, ready to go, and made in Italy by people who've been doing this for generations. We didn't just refine the first Khami. We rebuilt it from the ground up.
